GRAT Forum Holds Meeting to Seek Support from Telangana Government.

The Greater Rayalaseema Association of Telangana (GRAT) forum organized a meeting on Friday (20th October 2023) to discuss how to take the mission of GRAT to the Telangana government and request them to support the welfare of Rayalaseema people residing in Hyderabad.

The meeting was attended by Hanumantha Reddy, IPS founder of the GRAT association, and Syamala Reddy, the co-founder of the association. They gave their guidelines on how to bring the association's needs to the government's notice and seek fulfillment. GRAT members from various professions and places attended the meeting introduced themselves and shared their experiences of living in Hyderabad.

Mr Raghav, the general secretary of GRAT, explained the objectives and activities of the forum since its inception. He also highlighted the need for a Rayalaseema Bhavan in Hyderabad, where Rayalaseema people can gather, celebrate, and seek help. He said that many Rayalaseema people face discrimination and problems in Hyderabad, and urged everyone to work together through the association to support each other. He also mentioned that Rayalaseema people have a significant presence and influence in Hyderabad, with 15 lakh residents and 9-10 lakh voters, which can make a difference in the upcoming general elections.

Mr Raghav then initiated a panel discussion with the participants on approaching the Telangana government and seeking their support for the Rayalaseema cause. After a fruitful discussion, the following points were finalized to announce in a press meeting:

1. GRAT will support the government that gives them a place to construct Rayalaseema Bhavan in Hyderabad.

2. GRAT will demand a government order that ensures welfare schemes for the needy Rayalaseema people residing in Hyderabad.

3. GRAT will bring the genuine concerns of the Rayalaseema people to the government's notice and seek their resolution.

The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Raghav and a pledge by all the participants to work for the betterment of the Rayalaseema people in Hyderabad.

The GRAT members who participated in the meeting were treated to a dinner by Mr Venkata Swamy, one of the members of the group. He generously sponsored the meal as a gesture of appreciation and gratitude for their contributions and efforts.
