About Us
In the event of the separation of the united state of Andhra Pradesh, the question has arisen among many people, where will the people of Rayalaseema be? Many times in between there is the proposition of Rayala telangana. Some said like two districts will be in Telangana and two districts will be in the new state of Andhra Pradesh. Finally there was a partition. These arguments came to an end. Most of the areas of Rayalaseema remained in the state of Andhra Pradesh like 1953’s ‘Andhra’ state . The two states separated like brothers, as many wished for. But there are many people who settled in Hyderabad from Rayalaseema region for 100 years. That being said, in some districts, marriage relations and cultural exchanges have existed since before and are still continuing. In this background, after the bifurcation of the state, the question came like what is the fate of the people of Rayalaseema in Telangana. After thinking about it and coming to a conclusion, many intellectuals came to the conclusion that it would be better to bring together all the people of greater Rayalaseema regions and do something together. In this order, the seeds were sown for the formation of this great institution.
Our Founders
GRAT is an NGO formed for the upliftment of the residents of ten districts of Greater Rayalaseema settled in Telangana, irrespective of caste,creed and religions. In 2014, Elders respected sri A.Hanumantha reddy, Ex IPS officer, Justice sri P.Lakshmana reddy, Smt A.Shyamala Reddy established GRAT voluntary service organization with the aim of developing and welfare of the people of Greater Rayalaseema. After the bifurcation of the united State of Andhra Pradesh, the organisation was established with the intention of contributing to the socio-economic progress of the people of our region by all of us coming together and cooperating with each other, thinking that the union of the people of our region was inevitable.
